ReadPal's AutoSkim™ Removes Unnecessary Words So You Can Skim Much Faster.
Many words are unnecessary. They only serve to slow you down. Chinese does not use ‘the' or ‘a'. These words are redundant and can be removed without any loss of meaning. ReadPal software takes this to its logical conclusion and simply eliminates ‘lay-about' words from your digital documents. It works with emails, web pages, text and MS Word documents.
The removed words are chosen due to their lack of importance. Hence, ‘so' is deleted but not ‘not'. “I love you” and “I love you so” have a close meaning but you would not wish to mix up “I love you” and “I love you not”. With practice you can remove up to 50% of a document and still understand it perfectly well.
You can choose the level AutoSkim™ works at. With one click it will remove between ten and 50% of a document. Click again and the words are replaced. ReadPal recommend that you use it at the 20-30% level until you are familiar with reading this way and initially only use the 50% level when re-reading, revising or skimming.
CEO Michael FitzGerald says “In the age of information overload AutoSkim helps me keep on top of things”. When used in conjunction with ReadPal's Banner mode of reading users typically report a doubling of their reading efficiency.
AutoSkim is now bundled free as part of ReadPal.
