Visual Span
Exercises
Your visual span is the number of words
which you can comfortably read with
each focusing of your eyes. Trained readers are able to
take in more words with each focus.
This gives them a huge speed advantage. These exercises
increase your span. Incidentally, they are similar to
the visual exercises that professional athletes
(especially tennis players) use to increase their
awareness of the playing field.
